Hiding Sky Mail Details
We use a domain to make our mail look like it's come from somewhere else but no matter what I do, apparently because of the way Sky does it's mail system, our base (Sky) email details are still visible.
Currently the way I have Outlok configured is:
E-Mail Address: me@mydomain.org.uk
User name: me@sky.com
Reply E-Mail: me@mydomain.org.uk (under more settings).
When I send to another client (at least using Outlook) it clearly says it is from my sky address ... no other ISP I have ever been with this has this issue.
Anyone know of any solution?

Re: Hiding Sky Mail Details
When the email system moved across to Google, Sky left their old smtp.sky.com server active. If you use this in the SMTP field in Outlook then you should find that the emails now appear "correctly". At least they do for me - I've just tested it to be sure.
How long this SMTP server will stay active for I've no idea.

Re: Hiding Sky Mail Details
Officially the old servers are being de-commissioned on 4th Febuary, at this point all users not on the new server setup will no longer have POP/ SMTP email access.

Re: Hiding Sky Mail Details
Hi folk,
I've been trying to help a friend get their sky email working ( they've just got Sky, it's their first broadband setup, and it isn't receiving mail despite logging to the POP server OK... ), and this sounds like something it would be useful for me to understand on general principle ( though it may not be the root cause of my problems ). Are the details of this changeover ( i.e. what is 'the new server setup' as opposed to the 'old server setup' ? ) summarised in a thread somewhere ? Searching doesn't seem to be working for me on this site, I just get a blank page for anything I put in.
Thanks,
