      3. Click Forwarding and POP
      4. Select Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
      5. Choose the action you'd like your Sky Mail messages to take after they are accessed with POP.
      6. Configure your POP client and click Save Changes.

      Then:-

      1. Open Outlook or Outlook Express.
      2. Click the 'Tools' menu and select 'Accounts...'
      3. Click 'Add,' and then click 'Mail...'
      4. Enter your name in the 'Display name:' field, and click 'Next.'
      5. Enter your full Sky Mail email address (username@sky.com) in the 'Email address:' field, and click 'Next.'
      6. Enter 'pop.tools.sky.com' in the 'Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:' field.
      7. Enter 'smtp.tools.sky.com' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:' field.
      8. Click 'Next.'
      9. Enter your Sky Mail username (including '@sky.com') in the 'Account name:' field.
      10. Enter your Sky Mail password in the 'Password:' field, and click 'Next.'
      11. Click 'Finish'.
      12. Highlight 'pop.tools.sky.com' under 'Account' and click 'Properties'.
      13. Click the 'Advanced' tab.
      14. Tick the box next to 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)' under 'Outgoing Mail (SMTP)'.
      15. Enter '465' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP):' field.
      16. Tick the box next to 'This server requires a secure connection (SSL)' under 'Incoming mail (POP3)'. The port will change to 995.
*The order of 'Outgoing' and 'Incoming' mail server fields varies by version. Make sure you enter the correct information in each field.
      17. Click the 'Servers' tab and tick the box next to 'My server requires authentication'.
      18. Click 'OK'.

Now click close and click the send/recv button on the toolbar and it should get your email...

      Re: Configure Outlook Express

I use sky broadband but have a freeserve address. since the begining of Feb i have been unable to use my email account. I have changed my smtp to the recommended 'tools etc' setting but still cannot use it. when I had 'sky.com' as my smtp everything worked fine. Please let me know how I can access my account. THis is becoming VERY urgent.

      Thanks

      Re: Configure Outlook Express

You should still be able to access your freeserve address to read your emails as the pop settings should be your freeserve ones and will not have changed. As for an SMTP server I would suggest you apply for a skyuser SMTP account as per this post.
