Email and Outlook 2003 Problem
All
I can't get Outlook 2003 (SP3) to work with Sky email on POP.
Have read through all of the posts and links and tried the following.
- diff pop3/smtp settings
- diff ssl ports or none at all
- unlock catchpa link
- change sky password
I can log into Sky email online and have checked that POP forwarding is set etc.
Am still getting the following error.
Task 'Xxxxxxxx - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR [AUTH] Username and password not accepted.'
Anyone got any help, head hurts now.
Cheers
AK

Re: Email and Outlook 2003 Problem
What username and password are you using? Are you using the @sky.com ending at all? Changing SMTP or POP away from tools.sky.com will not work soon as they are turning the old servers off next month.

Re: Email and Outlook 2003 Problem
I suspect we belong to an ever growing club of disgruntled Sky users. I get exactly the same problem and so far have had no joy in trying to speak to anyone at Sky who can actually give me a solution that works!
It also seems that no-one on this forum knows a solution either...or do YOU???

Re: Email and Outlook 2003 Problem
Upgrade to office 2007
Sorry, not the answere you really need. IMO 2003 and 2007 should connect in much the same way. Login problems can be that you need to @sky.com as your user name and you have entered it without. I had problems with 2007, but that was mainly due to the SSL setting wasn't set to the value that was stated in the "how to" threads in the tutorial section on this site
