      Email Problems Today

Cant receive email today - getting prompted for my username and password by micrsoft mail - none of the settings have been changed.

Also, I keep getting page errors when trying to login to the online html mail pages.

      Anyone else getting this today?

Do Sky have a service status page?

      Re: Email Problems Today

Having the same problem today , me and the Mrs can't get our emails
We are both using Microsoft Outlook , me on my PC and her on her Laptop , and get the same message

Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR [AUTH] Username and password not accepted.'

We haven't change anything and they work fine if we log in via the Sky homepage ?

      Re: Email Problems Today

Yep I started getting the same message mid afternoon - spent frustrating 40 minutes on the phone with sky help - they did not understand nor will they willing to listen after going through the process of telling me how to do this via outlook express despite me telling them again and again I had tried the process they were going to tekem me through. they proceeded to tell me that they must try it:

So I follwed the instructions and then was told they are moving servers EH! Why didn't they tell me this first? - they then told men this was being done for old email client - well that was what I understood as the person would not listen to me at all.

      It was script - Obviusly!

      Re: Email Problems Today

i think there needs to be a sticky to go to all users when they sign up...

'Tier 1 read of scripts - always have done, so no need to get annoyed' - lol

IF you can get into it via the portal then that's where Sky's support ends as it was always ever touted as webmail. Google must be having issues or a new MS update has affected things...

      Re: Email Problems Today

In frustration I tried them again and they gave this advice - type www.sky.com/unlock

You will then be presented with an opportunity to enter your username and password - as a series of letters

This then should unlocked the account

How frustrating why didn't they write to us to tell this is what they are going to do.

      Re: Email Problems Today

Erm how can they write to warn you of things they do not know are going to happen? Google run the email servers, if something happens or goes wrong then Sky only know about it when someone tells them.
As long as you are using the new smtp.tools.sky.com and pop.tools.sky.com and have your settings correct then there should be no issues unless there is a problem on Googles' servers.

Er no there isn't a problem on the servers they are migrating people from the old system to a new one - those that joined before September that is.

However i must have joined bewteen the two - I know there isn' a problem with Skoogle as I can log on there to read my emails

The email migration was done a while back and as far as I know there is no further migration occuring, what IS happening soon is that people still using the old pop and smtp servers will be getting contacted as those servers are being shut down very soon.
