      archived messages are retrieved by outlook - any way of stopping this?

      What I'm actually attempting is to have my sky email pick up email from several other accounts (lineone/tiscali/pipex) which I use.

      This works well, except that its a bit slow, ie it only seems to check every 15 mins or so, which is not unreasonable I guess, but not good enough when I can get Outlook to check every 5 mins or less, or click a button for an immediate check, and I DO want to use outlook as my porimary email, its just that when away from home it would be really useful to just have one place, eg sky, to check all my emails.

      BUT, Outlook is getting all my emails twice now, once from lineone, say, and once fromn sky, even tho I have set sky up to archive the email immediately, hoping that would cause it to not be retrieved.

      The emails are retrieved from lineone to sky, and are only in the archive label/box/pot, but are still retrieved by Outlook.

      any ideas, or alternative solutions?

      Archive does not move things from your inbox it just hides them from the main view, since the mail is still in your main inbox it will download via POP. Until Google allows people to physically move email out of the inbox then it will not change, the only folders that do not automatically download with POP is Spam and Deleted Items.
