Unable to send email from Outlook Express since joining Sky

      Hello

Apologies if this is on the wrong Forum.

I have all my various email forwarded to a tiscali account which I collect via Outlook and Pop3. This has worked for many years.

I've just switched to Sky Broadband and if I now try to send an email (without changing any setting on Outlook) I get the following

An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'pop.tiscali.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.tiscali.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 Sorry, your non-local IP address (90.209.10.232) is not allowed to send email via me.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC6F

I am still receiving emails OK. The tiscali account is a very very old dial-up account and so should still exist.

Does the server response code indicate that the IP address (presumably linked to Sky) is blacklisted by Tiscali?? Or is it something I need to change.

      Any help would be appreciated

      Many thanks

      Simon

I would assume that it sounds like tiscali only allow SMTP from inside there own network (there customers).

Cant you just use the sky smtp server?

You will have to use sky to send your e-mails but can still receive your mails through tiscali as i do. I also have a very old email account that i had from tinyworld.co.uk that i am still using took a bit of fiddling around though to get the setting right.
