sending emails using own domain name

I've just subscribed to Sky bb and have discovered the common problem that when sending emails using my own domain email address via sky tools smtp ie. me@domain.com the address is seen as being sent from me@sky.com. Has anyone managed to solve this problem other than using google apps and changing isp?

Also, have attempted to sign up to Google apps but have received message saying that they are in process of verifying domain name...can't continue from here...what should happen next?

      Please help, thanks!

there's an email forum on this site with someone else having issues like you - but a lot more not having any problems...

however, the sending using ur own address but coming up as sky.com is a nice little feature of Google Mail unfortunately...

If you have followed the steps required to verify your domain with google apps, then it's just a waiting game - I have several domains on google apps, some verified within a hour or so, and others took up to 48 hrs.
