For Thunderbird users, download this to your hard drive (right click link and select 'save link as') . In TB (not Firefox), go to Tools > Add ons > Install, navigate to the saved file you just downloaded, install it, restart TB and you will now have the option added to the pop up to stop it bothering you.

I'm getting a similar message using Incredimail, it started happening last night, I've had to turn off the mail checker & do it manually every so often or it's forever popping up & just waiting there until I click on 'yes' or 'no' which can be frustrating when it's checking 5 accounts every 10 minutes.

I know this might be an obvious question, but do you think Google are aware of this problem?
      How do we tell them?
Just a positive thought rather than installing workarounds!
      Many thanks for the forums

Re: Odd message appears accessing e-mails.....

It's a known gmail problem, lots of people have posted it over the last few days on the gmail help pages.

Some users have had success changing the POP server to a different one - i.e. for Sky users changing to pop.googlemail.com or pop.gmail.com

Other than that we just need to wait.

Is this still happening for people as it doesn't seem to for me now. I don't know if the problem has been fixed by Google or if the Thunderbird add-on is doing it's job, either way no more of those warnings have popped up on either my Gmail or Sky account.
