Re: Did you have email problems?
I made the swith to all 5 of our e-mail accounts, on the day of the change, and within one hour had them all working, both on web mail and in Outlook 2003. I printed out the instructions, and followed them through. The only hurdle I had was that when trying to set up the default account, which is only used for e-mails from Sky (they spelt my name completly wrong!), I had to clear my temporary internet files as it kept defaulting back to my account. We use XP, and each user has their own profile, which made the other accounts easier.
I do have a reasonable level of IT skills, and can understand why some less knowledgeable users found things difficult. With such a major change, a freephone or local rate support number may have been a good move.

Re: Did you have email problems?
I followed instructions and main account worked in outlook first time
Additional accounts I activated when needed them couple days after change over, worked as well first time.

Re: Did you have email problems?
My main account worked first time via Thunderbird, but my other PC that has windows mail on it would not work unless I used the Gmail servers instead of the sky ones.

Re: Did you have email problems?
Main and sub account worked fine here, set up as per instructions given on Sky.com and can access both via POP. One account is from a few years ago the other is a pretty recent one created just prior to the migration.

Re: Did you have email problems?
Sky's customer service admitted that my sub account - the one I have used successfully for 6 months was "corrupted" during the migration. That was in a phone call on 8 November. Three weeks and several pointless phone calls later the problem persists and now my main account is now no longer working.
sky."tools" = the name says it all.

Re: Did you have email problems?
I can login to the Sky portal but thats it. If I go to the email/tools tab it says I need to be a registered Sky customer in order to use email and yet it says on the right hand side of the screen that I'm logged in as me...
Email hasn't worked for months, I gave up on it. It's not like it was reliable when it did work I lost count of the number of emails that never arrived. So no big loss.
Edit update: I managed to login to my email using the mail2web site (thanks Alan) and it found one email, the one from Sky saying my account was being moved to Google mail etc. I followed a link from there that took me direct to Sky tools page and for some reason my "latest emails" list showed up in there some dating back to september (jesus, has it been that long?) but when I tried the "Go to Inbox" it came back to the sky portal page again... but this time when I tried to login to My Sky it redirected me to Google and... and... my Inbox! Thats right, my email is working again! Huzzah!Last edited by Chug a Bug; 02-12-07 at 03:29 PM.

Re: Did you have email problems?
After I received the email informing me I had been migrated, I logged into the portal to config POP etc.
Configured outlook - no joy. I knew I had set them correctly, but double checked anyway.
Unlock captcha wouldn't take my username/password, so initially gave up. I haven't distributed my sky address too much, so wasn't bothered.
Last week, in a moment of boredom, tried again with captcha, this time it worked, but only on an old password I had used. Tried outlook with the old password, bingo
Spooky
