Email Problem
Hello everyone, just joined.
We have just got Sky broadband and have set up the email, with my husband being the account holder and me an additional user. I set the email up so his emails download to his PC and mine to my PC. All seemed to go well with mine, sent a test email from hotmail to see if it worked, and it did. Did the same with hubby's and also sent test email which came through to his no problem. However, a few minutes later, the same email came through mine to his addy!We have different usernames and passwords and different email addys. I have never encountered this problem before, it always worked ok with previous ISP.
Any help with this would be much appreciated
Kim

Re: Email Problem
Sounds like you may be using the "old" Sky email system.
If so, rather than trying to sort this, it might be better to get on the new "Skoogle" system Sky are offering" if you can.
Plenty of help on that subject here

Re: Email Problem
This just gets better and better
My domain email, which has it's own pop server (just used sky for the smtp) is also receiving mail from hubby's sky email account
I've never known anything like it, what a shambles!

Re: Email Problem
If you are using Sky's SMTP server then the Sky server will overwrite the outgoing address with your Sky one as it leaves. The only way to change that it to go into the webmail, click on Mail Settings and add your domain account as the default account for sending.
Of course doing this will lose you the ability to send as youname@sky.com via POP.
