    email no longer working!

      email no longer working!

      hello,

      my sky tools email was working last week (powered by google)

      for the past few days now, its not working at all... and ive changed no settings, so i know the fault is not my own.

      i cant even log in on the website now, always says invalid username or password, which i know 100% are correct as i was using them last week.

      in my windows mail, it keeps popping up with login credentials, when i put them in it pops up again and again.

      what have sky suddenly messed up my ;working email?

      There are still issues with the Google based service that Sky has switched to. You could try a "forgotten password" password reset and see if it will let you log in to Sky.com.

      Hi,

      iv'e only been with sky for a week or so & on my 2nd day of activation my e-mail & log in failed. this lasted all of the (last weekend) i wrote to sky & basically was fobbed off.they said everyone was notified by e-mail of the migration? funny eh? how could we possibly be e-mailed when the system was down!! oh well, will it get any better?

      The email notification went out on the Monday prior to the outage at the end of the week, some did not receive, some did and then failed to read it, others read it and forgot about it, some read it and still rang up even though they knew the servers were migrating. Not a good start to a contract but it should settle down soon, they are dealing with the small percentage of users that still have issues at the moment but some have had problems since a long time before the email migration ever happened.

      so basically, people recieved an email saying the email service would be down?

      for how long, mine has already been a few days?

      What server settings are you using, if you are using the pop.tools and smtp.tools ones try using Google's ones instead - pop.gmail.com & smtp.gmail.com.

      I think what Paul is saying is that Sky sent out an email (or in my case 419 of them) saying that people would be migrated to new new Google system a day or two before their accounts were done.

      oh right,

      well i recieved that one... and i did get my sky tools email working, for a week!

      now its just broken, same settings in use.

      i will try changing to gmails servers.

      edit: nope, still getting the login credentials box coming up which doesnt work.

      In the username box, you have put your full email address haven't you including @sky.com bit.
