Sent POP mail is stored in Gmail

I noticed today that mail sent using Outlook Express gets saved in my Sky Gmail "sent" folder.

I have pop set to delete mail from Sky's server once accessed and that works for incoming mail.

thats because the gmail server is the main one - you're just deleting it from your client...

there maybe somewhere to set it to delete from gmail too but ive not had a chance to look myself

Re: Sent POP mail is stored in Gmail

One of the main selling points for gmail to start with was the size of the mail box. They said you would never have to delete a message ever again.

Its a really handy function to have all the emails you have sent and received over the years. When someone asks 6 months after the event... 'do you remember that company who sold that thing we talked about'. I do the same with my text messages on my phone (you can keep a lot of texts on a 2gb memory card!).

I does however worry me slightly... google scan your messages for suitable advert placement. With all your emails, they can build quite a picture of a person. Slightly Big Brother.
