Multiple POP clients - Recent Mode
Just read about the tips on using recent: before your username when using multiple email clients. My question is, do I need to add recent: to every POP client or just 1? I only use two, outlook express at work and outlook at home.
I have added recent: to my work outlook express, hoping this will allow me to download all emails at home with outlook.
Is this correct?
TIA

Re: Multiple POP clients - Recent Mode
You can do either. If you check both regularly then you probably want to do it to both of them.
Recent mode will only download the emails that are still on the Webmail and have been received in the last 30 days. It will download your sent items too.Last edited by the_sky_goat; 14-11-07 at 10:28 AM. Reason: clarity

Re: Multiple POP clients - Recent Mode
Once you enable recent mode, please be sure to configure your POP client to leave messages on the server according to the instructions below:
In Outlook, on the Advanced tab, check the box next to Leave a copy of messages on the server.
In Outlook Express, on the Advanced tab, check the box next to Leave a copy of messages on server.
In Apple Mail, on the Advanced tab, remove the check next to Remove copy from server after retrieving a message.
In Thunderbird, on the Server Settings tab, check the box next to Leave messages on server.

Re: Multiple POP clients - Recent Mode
Yeah cheers for that.
Will add 'recent:' to both my POP clients then. Cheers
Seems this new Google email is causing some right problems with the number of posts here?
