We have followed Sky's instructions but we cannot send or recieve emails as the error message "Unable to log onto incoming mail server (pop3). Please verify settings in the User name, password, and email fields"
All our passwords match in Sky & Outlook...!!

Re: Can anyone help with getting Outlook to download messages?
Hi, Here is the answer to get your new sky email working with outlook express.
1) follow the email instructions
2) logon to sky email & tools tab and login
3) click on the inbox link tab
3) click on the mail settings tab ( a yellow coloured form will appear. )
4) click on the forwarding and pop tab
5) make sure this box below is ticked and then click save...
Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)
Check your outlook express email by clicking send/receive and it will be okay.
...it worked for me lol.

Re: Can anyone help with getting Outlook to download messages?
I have similar problem. I can use Sky email ok and Firefox internet. But not Outlook or Micr Explorer. Have followed all the details listed and still no joy. Also I can Download from BOXNET store site to Desktop, but not UPLOAD files from Desktop folder. When I click send/receive on Outlook I get Window headed Dial Up Connection with highlighted Connect to Bband 2 below. I click Connect and get another window headed Connect BBand 2. I click Connect and get Connecting Through WAN MINIPORT (PPOE). Then get message Remote Computer did not respond. Error 678.
help please ken

Re: Can anyone help with getting Outlook to download messages?
you've got connection settings wrong before even getting into the email side of it...
you initially need to go to internet options in control panel, and go to the connections tab and have it set to never dial a connection as ur using ethernet...then click on LAN settings and make sure no ticks are in the boxes...then click ok and go back to your desktop and open IE to test its getting internet through ok...
i already assume you have POP already enabled on the web portal, as without it you wont be able to get outlook working...Last edited by IWasNotTheEnemy; 12-11-07 at 10:31 PM.

Re: Can anyone help with getting Outlook to download messages?
This sounds like you have an old setting for a dialup connection stored which your computer is trying to use. In both Internet Explorer and Outlook you need to set your means of connection as your LAN - not a dialup connection.
EDIT: Sorry - previous poster beat me to it!Last edited by eyemdee; 12-11-07 at 10:43 PM.

Re: Can anyone help with getting Outlook to download messages?
While I can log in at the website, since this change I cannot access via Outlook.
I have carefully done everything suggested..no joy.
All I get is the repetitive password request.
Using UnlockCaptcha says I'm not an administrator, clicking on "I'm not an admin" takes me to my mail inbox................but nothing helps with Outlook access.....and I have done everything and used the correct server, SSL, and username/password.My Bus speed is 26 mph, what's yours??

Hi, are you sure you're going to the right Account Unlock page? It sounds like you are going to this one by mistake. You must also make sure outlook is closed whilst you go there.
