      OK.

      Can you answer a few questions first:

      1. Are you able to log into sky email at http://mail.tools.sky.com
      2. If you can, have you activated POP in the mail settings?

      If you have been able to log on to the website and enable POP here is a little experiment. As you mention, the Google setup is the same as Sky. If you put your sky username and password (remembering the @sky.com bit) in place of the google username and password you should be able to access you sky account. There is no need to change any other settings.

      If that fails, post back with some more detail about any error messages and we'll try to get you back online.

      Hi sky_the_goat.

      below is the message i keep on getting in outlook,i tried changing name and password ,in my google account, to the sky one's but to no avail,

      can you suggest anything else, before i clear off to a different isp

      hmmm, can I go back to the beginning...

      have you activated POP on the Sky website - http://mail.tools.sky.com ? I can't see in your first post whether you had got that far yet. I have assumed so, given that you said you gmail account works fine in Outlook.

      If you have, have you also tried the account unlock page? make sure you have Outlook closed when you do this. That's the normal page to go to is you get the error you have mentioned - however it doesn't seem to be working for everyone every time.

      failing that it may, sadly, just be a case of waiting for it to clear itself - several others have reported that it has just magically started working (i.e. Sky have rebuilt their account).

      You've done the right thing getting a gmail account - keeping it separate from your ISP is the way to go forward - even once you've sorted Sky out!

      Right,
      first thing i did was to go to settings page and enable pop
      i can log into sky mail page with my name and password, so i can get the emails there, but when i go to the unlock page, i get the message username and password don't match!!!!!!! how's that????? when there both the same.

      if sky don't sort this rapid, i'm off to another supplier,phone, tv and broadband, i've just had enough of this, can't get any sense out of sky, just wait!!!!!!!!!!!!
