Not recognised username
Hi there,
I am unable to login to the portal and therefore transfer my email account to gmail. This has always been the case, however a techi at sky managed to work around it so I can access my email via outlook.
I can't remember my password, but in any event it doesn't recognise my username, I have tried upper and lower case. If I do the forgotton username promt and enter my details it says "your username could not be found."
Any help much appreciated as Sky have just said oh yes this is a known problem we are working on and try again in a few days, it has been like this for over a year!

If they have checked your information and you are using the correct user name then there is little they can do until the migration completes. Once the migration completes you can cal back and it can be escalated as normal.
If you have your details in outlook still then you can use something to reveal the password that will be a "revelation" to you. Once you have this info you should be able log into sky.com and or do a password reset which may help things along/
Has anyone checked your account to see what your user name is?

Thanks for the response, sky have confirmed my username, but the website isn't recognising it.
What did you mean about the outlook revelation?

If the details (password and user name) are correct in Outlook and they have been working then there is a tool that can reveal the password to you.

Download, unzip, install and then run this tool:

You will need to go into your email tool (Outlook or Outlook express) and find the account you set up for Sky that has worked prior to the migration. Go into the settings for the account where it shows you the user name and often it has a line saying password with a set of asterisks in it. Click on and drag the revelation target icon to the asterisks and the password will be shown to you in the revelation window.

Do you think that will help, will I be able to change my email over to the new google mail without going via the portal?

have same problem portal has never worked for me [set outlook express to get sky email b4 the changeover ] now i can not log into portal to change it to pop [i have tried my password which then takes me to the registration page ,have tried the lost password with my sky account ,which then allows me to change password ,then i got to my sky and it wont allow me access as the password is not the same as previous 2 passwords [althogh i only ever had 1]
