      Some Useful Info from Sky

      http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skyco...tentid=1131810

I am receiving multiple email alerts from Sky about the new Email Service, how can I stop these?

If you use an email program to check your Sky email and are now receiving multiple emails from us letting you know that you service has been moved:

      1. Disconnect from the Internet (this will stop your program from checking against the old mail servers and downloading the email alert.)
      2. Close your email program, then reconnect to the Internet.
      3. Enable POP Downloading in the new email service:

      (i) Go to www.sky.com/tools.
(ii) Login with your Sky Email username and password.
(iii) Select Go to Inbox to open your mailbox.
(iv) Select Mail Settings at the top of the page.
      (v) On the settings page, select the Forwarding and POP tab.
(vi) In the POP Download section select Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on Ė itís your choice.
(viii) Choose what you would like to do with your emails after you download them, such as:
Keep Sky Emailís copy in the Inbox or Archive Sky Emailís copy or Delete Sky Emailís copy

      4. Click Save Changes.

Iíve been moved to the new Sky Email, but I donít see my old emails or contacts.

It may take us up to five days after your move to new Sky Email to move all of your old emails and contacts across Ė please donít worry, we are working to move them across as quickly and safely as possible. If it has been more than 5 days since your move:

For emails, select the ĎAll Mailí link on the left hand side of your email Inbox screen, as some of your old emails may not automatically appear in the Inbox. You can move them to the Inbox from the ĎAll Mailí screen by ticking the box next to the messages you want to move, and selecting Move to Inbox.
For contacts, select the 'Contacts' link on the left hand side of your email Inbox screen. In the Contacts screen, select All Contacts to see the full list of your contacts.

Hope it helps some - Patience seems to be the word!

      Patience !!!!

There was F/all wrong with it for nearly a year (for me).

Are Sky trying to be funny by p-ing off all their BB customers????

Great business plan, lets brag about 1 million BB customers in the first year then bugger up their email accounts.

If "a happy customer is the world's best salesman" then what's 1 million wound up customers going to do for word of mouth?

As Skyuser seems to have some connection/clout with Sky maybe James M would like to come out of hiding and personally apologise to his customers.

You know the one's who pay his wages.

The email accounts are not "buggered" up but as is very clear there have been problems with the migration. The old email system worked for some but was very problematic for others. Once the migration completes all Sky customers will be on the |Google based system which is stable, proven and always being improved and extra features added.
It's annoying in the short term but should reap rewards in the long term for all concerned.

Re: Some Useful Info from Sky

Let's just explore that a bit..............

The old Email system was "problematic" because totally insufficient thinking was put into its introduction and features. For heaven's sake, Email systems are hardly new, and so the basic software is well tested and debugged. The SKY system looked and felt like it had been thrown together by someone who'd never ever used one before.

To introduce a system that just could NOT be accessed by the commonest mail software in the world when on another spine is hardly acceptable!!! To then leave people in that state for over a year demonstrates total disregard for customer service!!!

I'll not go on about how I was left on Connect paying over the odds against a written promise to transfer immediately on availability!!!

SO, this change is overdue and only occuring after a huge delay, so plenty of time to "get it right"!!!!!

With regards this latest migration, after yesterday giving up, totally unable to connect, this morning my Outlook suddenly managed for the first time to connect to my SKY main account, and a load of really "old" sent (and I'd thought deleted) mail suddenly appeared in my INBOX!!

Now to try to get the other accounts up.................
My Bus speed is 26 mph, what's yours??
