      1. Log in to your Sky Email account on Sky's web portal.
      2. Click Settings at the top of any Sky Email page.
      3. Click Forwarding and POP in the orange Mail Settings box.
      4. Select Enable POP For All Mail or Enable POP For Mail That Arrives From Now On.
      5. Choose the action you'd like your Sky Email messages to take after they are accessed with POP.
      6. Configure your POP client* and click Save Changes.

Repeat this process for each additional account you have set up.

dont worry Karen1961, i had same prob. Unfortunately sky dont provide any literature with your router/order, and the expensive phone line dont tell you either (about logging on to web and setting up your email tools/options) Its easy to fix, someone helped me on here do the following. mines working fine now.

      1. Log in to your Sky Email account.

To configure Outlook, do the following...

      1. Enable POP in your Sky Email account (see above).
      2. Open Outlook
      3. Click the Tools menu, and select E-mail Accounts...
      4. Select Add A New E-mail Account, and click Next.
      5. Choose POP3 as your server type by clicking the radio button, and click Next.
      6. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:
      User Information:
      - Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the From: field of outgoing messages.
      - Email Address: Enter your full Sky Email address (username@sky.com)
      Server Information:
      - Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.tools.sky.com
      - Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.tools.sky.com
      Login Information:
      - User Name: Enter your Sky Email username (including @sky.com)
      - Password: Enter your Sky Email password
      7. Click More Settings... and then click the Outgoing Server tab.
      8. Check the box next to My Outgoing Server (SMTP) Requires Authentication and select Use Same Settings As My Incoming Mail Server.
      9. Click the Advanced tab, and check the box next to This Server Requires An Encrypted Connection (SSL) under Incoming Server (POP3).
      10. Check the box next to This Server Requires An Encrypted Connection (SSL) under Outgoing Server (SMTP), and enter 465 in the Outgoing server (SMTP) box.
      11. Click OK.
      12. Click Test Account Settings... After receiving 'Congratulations! All tests completed successfully', and click Close.
      13. Click Next, and then click Finish.

      good luck hun :-)

Re: no emails with vista and windows live

It's not that sky do not send out the information, unfortunately it's down to Sky changing their email system and the information in the install packs now being out of date but as pointed out all the information needed is on the Sky.com site under customer support, Broadband, new sky email and tools, using sky email.
I have noticed a couple of occassions on the forum where people say to change to tools.sky.com but don't mention enabling the POP access. You need to do both for it to work. Hopefully when the full migration occurs on Wednesday the emails going out to customers will fully instruct them on what to do and what to check.
Oh and yes we do tell customers how to change the settings and we do tell them they have to enable the POP side, if you were not told it was probably either a lazy TS or very early into the migration when people may not have been fully aware of it.
