502 Proxy Error Fix
Anyone who is getting this error while logging in to the Sky Portal and is using Firefox as their web browser, try using IE to log in. I had the error since the switch to google and tried IE and it worked for me.
Also, if you are using OE or Outlook, or some other email client, make sure you have POP forwarding enabled which can be done through the web email settings.
Cheers,
Jack

Re: 502 Proxy Error Fix
But if it fixes the problem then surely it is worth it. I have to use the IE tab if I want anything from ITVs video library as they only support IE at the moment.

Re: 502 Proxy Error Fix
Thankx Alan b,
I've installed the IE Tab plugin and it works fine, I can now access my sky email via firefox, just a word of advice for anyone setting up via this method.
load ie tab addon
restart firefox
then goto tools add ons and select options under the IE tab add on
then cut and paste the IP address for sky email and add to allowed list in IE tab options.
then try to connect to your inbox, when you get the 502 error message again cut and paste the IP address for new window that opens and add the IP address to the allow list in IE tab options.
Close firefox and restart, all should work now when you log on to you sky email via firefox.
Good luck and thankx again Alan b.

Re: 502 Proxy Error Fix
May seem long winded but you only have to do it once and you don't have to hit the IE tab option ever again firefox just loads pages as normal
I've also found that if you have more than one sky email address you can configure sky email to check all your address at once.
login to your sky email you want to use as main address
under Mail settings under select get mail form other accounts and add account.
just follow simple instructions and then when you enter you're selected main sky address it checks all the email accounts you've added. saves loging in and out of all your accounts. You can even select to reply from the address the email was sent to.
btw I'm not a great lover of IE and have used Gmail for 2 years now

It's been fixed - works fine with Firefox without IE.
