Have I got this right? Sky have still NOT resolved the problem of sending and receiving emails between Sky/Googlemail and Microsoft Outlook 2002 - despite all the suggested 'solutions' and workarounds? Reading around various forums it seems this problem has only been going on for nearly 2 years!!! I know the Tech Support department are renowed for their slow response and general uselessness but this takes the biscuit!
Has anyone out there managed to find a solution that actually works. I've set my Outlook up EXACTLY as instructed, including enabling the pop3 on the Sky settings and unlocking the original Sky password on www.sky.com/unlock...been through this now about a dozen times. Just off out to hang myself!!!

I would guess that under security settings for the pop server you need to untick "Use secure authentification"

Re: New Sky Email SMTP and POP Settings (powered by Google)

Hi all. My first time here and in need of help. I am dim when it comes to PC's, so please bear with me. I have had a perfectly good working relationship with my sky email for the past 2 years till 2 weeks ago. For some reason I tried to log on to my emails and was told that the SKY ID.COM couldn't be found or link broken/DNS error etc etc and I haven't been able to get to my emails since. I tried to gain access to them from work, and hey presto, no problem. I can use the rest of sky broadband ok, although using google search is very slow. What has happened to my home PC? Any ideas?

Re: New Sky Email SMTP and POP Settings (powered by Google)

I have my own web hosting, with that comes the email. For the last two years I have been able to send via my domain name all my emails ie incoming and outgoing all route through:-

      mail.angelrex.co.uk

suddenly today i now cannot sed emails and it says server response 550 and links to spamhaus saying its been blocked. Ive checked my IP via spamhaus which comes up with:-

Outbound Email Policy of Sky Broadband for this IP range:

It is the policy of Sky Broadband that email sent from this IP address should be sent out only via the dedicated outbound mail server for the Sky Broadband service.

Questions about this policy should be directed to abuse@sky.com. Configuration information for most Mail Clients in common use appears in the Sky Email section of the Sky Help Centre portal.

Is there nothing I can do to get it back?

Re: New Sky Email SMTP and POP Settings (powered by Google)

Help - this does not seem to work for me as when I try to sign in to thunderbird it says
'sending of password did not succeed mailserver responded ' user and password not accepted - yet I know it works as I can signin to sky.com via web!
