      Am I going crazy?
I've had my email transferred and working for a couple of weeks. I use Outlook 2003 and have my own domain name so don't use username@sky.com as my reply address on Outlook.
I was disturbed when people kept asking me if I had changed my email address. I hadn't. Then I looked at some of the replies to my emails and saw that my Replyto address was now username@sky.com rather than me@mydomain.co.uk I checked my Sent log and the reference to sky.com didn't appear there.
It seems that Sky SMTP is REPLACING my Replyto address that I had set in Outlook with my Sky email address.
Any suggestions as to how I can force Sky SMTP to leave my Replyto address as it should be?
      Thanks in anticipation
      B

Don't use Sky's SMTP server use the one with your domain.

Re: New Sky Email SMTP and POP Settings (powered by Google)

Can anyone help with Pocket Outlook in my Windows Mobile 6 PPC?
I had it working in WM5, but after upgrading to WM6 I don't seem able to access the login system at all. I have a Gmail a/c and that works fine - port numbers sit as a suffix behind the pop and smtp settings. No matter how I set the configuration I just can't get as far as logging-on to the servers. This is the same if I connect via my mobile operator's 3G or my wifi router through Sky themselves.

I've even posted to Sky's tech support and *WTF* they were on the phone inside of an hour asking how they could help!! I was astonished to say the least. Unfortunately, the chap couldn't help at all.

I just thought I'd ask. I'll post a similar question on MoDaCo and xda-developers too as someone there must use SkyBB and Skooglemail.

Re: New Sky Email SMTP and POP Settings (powered by Google)

Joined Sky broadband yesterday and sky web email last week. Attempting to set up sky email (skoogle as it's called here) with outlook 2002. Have gone through the skoogle set up in outlook (995 / 465 / SSL ticks / pop.tools.sky.com etc) and the relevant pop forwarding requirements in sky webmail. Have ONLY changed the original sky letter generated password ONCE and haven't change anything since. Can receive and send email from sky webmail ok. BUT only sporadically received email at outlook - haven't been able to send from outlook.
Have gone through the various postings and saw that changing pop settings in outlook to pop.gmail.com and smtp.gmail.com and now receiving emails at outlook seems more stable (does a few fine but can't cope with a flood - times out). However, cannot send out any emails from outlook and continue to get this message:
Task 'Home Sky - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
When testing outlook - can do everything apart from: Send test email message: Unable to send test message. Please verify the email address field.

Is sky / google still unable to sync everything between web mail and outlook or do we have to wait patiently until they sort it ?

      Any help gratefully received !!

Re: New Sky Email SMTP and POP Settings (powered by Google)

      Hi
I have recently joined Sky broadband. I am having problems setting up outlook. I received an e mail from Sky them telling me my account had been moved to Sky e mail powered by Google and to follow their instructions on setting up an account in Outlook. This I did but I kept getting error messages so changed back to original setting which lets me send but not receive. Please can anyone help me I really want to stick with Outlook.
      Thanks

Re: New Sky Email SMTP and POP Settings (powered by Google)

Just a heads up guys, all old Sky smtp and pop servers are being switched off next month. smtp.sky.com and pop.sky.com will no longer work.
