Re: New Sky Email SMTP and POP Settings (powered by Google)

      Hi,

Does using VISTA have any effect on these settigs? I'm currently using pop.sky.com and smtp.sky.com On the advanced tab outgoing smtp = 25 incoming pop3 = 995

Secondly, I keep getting "Error 815" server is not responding pop.tools.sky.com protocol pop3, port995 secure (ssl) yes, select error:11001, error no 0x800ccc01.

I've added an additional e-mail address to the one originally supplied (as it was particularly "noddy") but it will neither send or receive e-mails hence the question ref smtp and pop3 numbers settings.

I'm using OE and can see e-mails waiting in the SKY e-mail page.

On initial connection, I can often get to the Google front page but can not always access for example E-bay until I unplug the modem for about 1 minute then reconnect.

      Any advice gratefully accepted.

Your email settings are the old settings, try going to sky.com, customer support, broadband, Sky Email Advanced FAQs, configuring outlook and other POP email programs for the correct settings.

Re: New Sky Email SMTP and POP Settings (powered by Google)

      Hi all,

Newbie here; I've got all my settings spot on in Outlook 2003. I have the settings on my laptop too. The problem I have is that if I'm using both my PC and Laptop at home say, whichever computer does the send/receive first, gets the email. It's not sending the message to both computers!!

My normal business emails come from my ISP and always come into both computers. I just don't know what the problem is. I've enabled POP/Forwarding in the Sky settings but I still only get one copy.

      Can anyone help?

      Thanks,

      Steve.

Have you checked your settings on the email and tools inbox, settings, tab to see if you are keeping a copy on the google server?

      Hi,
Thanks for the quick response; Yes, I've got the settings right in the Email and Tools. I just don't get it.

      norfolkandchance:
The messages aren't "sent" to your computers they are "collected" by the clients and if you wish to be able to collect them with both you need to set " leave a copy of messages on server" within the client software.

Please look at the Tips & Solutions link in my signature to find out about setting up Sky email to receive on both clients. You need to use something called 'recent' mode. Instructions are in the link.

Re: New Sky Email SMTP and POP Settings (powered by Google)

I had my sky email working fine with Windows Mail on Vista, I've just switched over to Outlook 2007 and think I've got it all working OK except when I first open Outlook Express I get a Internet Security Warning saying -

The server you are trying to connect to is using security certificate that cannot be verified.
The target principal name is incorrect.
Do you want to continue using this server ?

      Any ideas guys?
