McAfee upgrade and Socket error 10061 ???

I've had Sky Broadband since August last year and surprisingly not had any problems ... until now.

I received and installed the update from McAfee for the new security software and since then when I go into Outlook Express 6.0 I get a socket error code 10061 ... does anyone know why? I can still use the web mail function but prefer Outlook.

I've tried all sorts including running some reg clean software with no success.

      Help !!!!

It might be something to do with McAfee, have you tried disaballing it to see if your email works then.

socket error # 10061 - Safer Networking Forums maybe be a firewall problem as mcafee has changed something [often viewed as an attack and firerwall stops it

Haven't seen your exact problem, but also have had email stop working since loading the latest McAfee. See this thread

Okay. I know I am a bore on this subject but,
      McAfee is Crappy.
Use SkyUser Search to see how many people on
Sky Broadband have had problems with it.
That's why I never installed McAfee.
I know some have posted that all you need do is make
      setting adjustments to McAfee.
But why give yourself the hassle?
There are far better and even free AV software that does
not cause problems and are easier to use.
      Un-install McAfee and....

Try NOD32 (free for a month) or free AVG or Avast from
Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com.
