Struggling to Get On Demand Working - Wired & WiFi

I'm struggling to get On Demand through my Sky+ HD box. I thought this would be relatively simple.

I have tried connecting the Sky+ HD box to my router via ethernet cable, and also using the Sky On Demand WiFi connector.

DHCP is enabled on my router (Billion 7800N) but I don't receive an IP address. Using both wired and wireless method, I receive the following:

      Connection to Broadband Router: Fail
      Connection to On Demand: Fail
IP Address of this Sky Box: 0.0.0.0
      DHCP: ON

So I try and manually assign an IP address to the box using the following settings:

      IP: 192.168.0.90
      S/M: 255.255.255.0
      Gateway: 192.168.0.1
      DNS: 8.8.8.8

      and I receive the following:

      Connection to Broadband Router: Ok
      Connection to On Demand: Fail
IP Address of this Sky Box: 192.168.0.95
      DHCP: OFF

I'm not sure where to go from here. Tried rebooting both the box and router but no luck. I haven't had this issue with any other device requesting a DHCP address before.

I read somewhere it may be something to do with illegal Arp requests by the Sky box?

Does your wi-fi adaptor connect to the Sky+ HD box using a network cable or USB?
If by network cable the problem couldn't be something as simple as a defective patch lead could it?

Assuming all the leads are ok, do you have a Sky router?
If so can your Sky box get an IP address using DHCP if connected to your Sky router?
There is no need to connect it to the BT modem or telephone line.

The WiFi adaptor uses a network cable to connect to the box. I have tried two different cables though. One to connect to the adaptor and a longer cable to connect directly to router.

Will try the sky router tomorrow.

I don't know if it is s simple typo or something else wrong, but both the above bold addresses should be the same. Can you confirm that the IP address of of your router is 192.168.0.1. I ask as the default setting for the Billion is 192.168.1.1.

Can you try changing the Multiplexing* on your router from VC-Mux to LLC, or indeed vice-versa. This is something that is often successful when connecting to the Sky server fails.

*May be shown under the PPPoA setup as 'Encap method'

Sorry that is a typo. Yeah both IP addresses are the same. They are in the 192.168.0 subnet. I changed it from the default.

I'll try the router settings as suggested and report back.
