Sky are first to promote the benefits of HD but then only supply a SD disk.
If you purchase a film, how long is this available for to download?
      Forgive my ignorance

Yes it would be nice to have the option for a Blu-ray disc instead. Hopefully Sky will add a Blu-ray option at some stage but for now they are offering just the DVDs.

As for the price, sure there is currently a premium difference between Blu-ray and DVD. I am sure that Sky would include a suitable premium difference if/when they decide to add Blu-rays to the Buy and Keep section.

For so long as you keep your Sky TV account alive.

The whole idea is that should your Sky+ HD STB fail or get upgraded at a later date, you can still access the content by triggering it to download from the Sky website.

(The address to restore the content is available in your Planner's help pages)

For more on Buy and Keep, please take a look here: Sky Store - Buy & Keep - Sky Products

      Re: Sky Store DVD

Well technically it already costs more to purchase one of the DVDs via the Buy and Keep facility.

If there were a choice, just as there is in the shops, then I think that Sky would be on a winner.
