      On demand

On Demand fails every day until I reset Sky Sagemcom HD Router, this Router was renewed approx 1yr ago. When faulty, Internet on Desktop( Ethernet Connexion ) & Wireless Laptop --OK. When faulty, error message states Catchup = catchup searching for listings please wait. Before resetting SKY Router, I have tried resetting On Demand connection box ( 2 lights on )also checked Settings /Network all; OK ----Its only when I reset Router fault clears ? ? Any Ideas please.

      Re: On demand

How is Sky box connected to router? If not ethernet cable does problem still occur when using ethernet? Can you use "backup" to get out of error condition and if so does box then operate normally for other functions not associated with On Demand?

      Re: On demand

Hi Seawright, In my Study room is my Desktop with Standard Sky Router above it, connected by standard ethernet cable supplied with Router. 8 metres away in my Lounge is Tele with SKY HD Box-- on top of this box is a Black On demand Box with `2` lights lit, no ethernet cable just Wireless. Internet Ok in Lounge also using Wireless for Laptop. All SKY channels viewing & Internet--Ok, when fault is with `On Demand` I have to reset Sky Router every morning.

      Re: On demand

Do you have a long ethernet cable or can you move your router nearer to your TV to check if On Demand works correctly with a direct connection.

      Re: On demand

      Hi Seawright,
I appreciate your help, good suggestion. Tried taking Router to TV & Sky Box, but found telephone line is not working at this position, so rather than pull out big tv & stand & STB and find telephone fault, I will try and get an Ethernet Cable. Reconnected Router to original room and checked `On Demand` at moment is OK, but it seems after getting up in the morning fault is ON & then I reset Sky Router ONCE & fault doesn`t appear again to next morning ? ? wierd.Has been perfect since On Demand Boxes were introduced.

      Re: On demand

Could telephone fault be due to signal already having passed through a microfilter so ADSL component is no longer available to feed router. Check at master socket if feed to Sky box is taken off before or after microfilter. If after fit splitter directly into master socket then plug microfilter into the splitter. You'll also require another microfilter at the Sky box.

      Re: On demand

      Thank you for that.

You have the Sagem 2504N with, I believe, the most recent firmware version installed.

I was concerned about your connection speed but at a little over 10mb you have plenty for the On Demand content.

Further down the page of figure you have posted is a link "Router Statistics" could you post those details please? It may indicate better if there is a line issue. For ease, if you could click the A/A symbol before you post the, we can then see them in 'table' form.
