      On Demand and Normal Sky

      Hi all,

Being new and with an aging HD + box I am trying to find out if i can do the following with my current setup...

Watch sky on demand in one room and use the sky box normally in the other room... I know this seems like a sort of mulitroom senario but could well be very handy to help spread the load. Also does the sky go App support Airplay?

Cheers in advance for your comments.

One Sky+ HD set top box will only allow you to watch one programme at a time no matter how many televisions are connected to it. Also there is no native support for Airplay in the Sky Go App.

I am guessing, but since Sky has gone to great lengths to disable the HDMI output on various smart phones and tablets so that you cannot plug your phone into a HD TV, that they will not be adding this ability.

Yet they let you use Sky go on an Xbox which guess what, is often connected to the HDTV

There's also nothing to stop you connecting a laptop to the HDTV and streaming that way, so why they do it for a Tablet/Smartphone is quite frankly beyond me.

The constant response from the people at Sky is 'Contractual'.

Phones and Tablets are seen as portable. Xboxes and PCs aren't. As Laptops aren't technicaly much different from a PC the get the same as the PC.
