Download speed awful for Catchup connected by pass thru mains adapters 85mbps

I recently managed to connect my new Sky router to my Sky HD Box using a pair of pass thru mains plugs max speed 85mbps. ( took me a while didn't know I had to enable Broadband on my HD Box!) The download speed is awful, would take over an hour to download an hour long program. I wonder if this is because my pass thru plugs run at max 85mbps. I've noticed others are using 200mbps. Could this be the problem?
There is another possible bottleneck my Sky Routers max download is 2.7. Any ideas???

Your broadband download speed of 2.7Mbps is the problem. Until I upgraded to fibre, I used to get about 3.5Mbps and all video downloads (from Sky, iTunes etc) took about the same time to download as the duration of the movie or show!

Your homeplugs would give a throughput of about 15Mbps I think. Probably not good enough to stream HD round the house (if you wanted to) but adequate for your current broadband connection.
