Looks very nice for sitting under the TV on top of the Sky STB.

I trust that it was easy to setup through the Sky STB too.

      Re: Sky's New Wireless Connector

If you have an internet TV does it work on that? I have the old one, set up on the STB plugged it into the TV and it works perfectly.

Is there any way to set the network key from within the GUI?

      Re: Sky's New Wireless Connector

once its setup it remembers the network
so just set it up on a pc or the sky box

      and plug into the tv

btw the config file is interesting
      with ref's to airties 4410

it seems to be an airties 4410 with custom firmware and reboxed
and 300mbit disabled and such in the config file with no option to change

Sorry i cant it came down with a nasty case of a bricked bootloader
will have to pop it open and attach a serial cable once someone dumps the firmware

Just received mine today, the new model, and came by Royal Mail tracked, but no signature required. Sky really cannot be making any money selling these. A tenner for the wireless connector delivered, bargain.

      Re: Sky's New Wireless Connector

I bought one for my mum to use but tried it out at my house first. I use 500meg home plugs and in comparison the wireless connecter is extremely slow. I got a 50% signal on it and I measured the download at about 5 mb. Dreadful. Home plugs are defo the way forward

      Re: Sky's New Wireless Connector

      My replacement is here

      Its 130mbit max

I have tried it on broadcom ap's and Atheros ap's it connects at 130mbit and pulls around 5.5meg with a very good link
and around 4meg with a good link

The web interface is only accessable from the wired side of the bridge
e.g. its refused over the wireless side

I havnt found its ip if its not associated to an ap
      for manual setup

so for now the easiest way to set the device up is via the sky box
and from then on you can connect it to a pc via the cat5e cable for manual config via the web interface

I have also fully tested the wireless bridge with multiple devices at once
e.g. bridge connected via a switch providing internet access to 4 devices

Bridge Plugged into port 1 of switch providing internet access
Xbox 360 Plugged into port 2 of switch
PS3 Plugged into port 3 of swtich
Sky Box plugged into port 4 of switch
PC Plugged into port 5 of switch

all where able to get an ip via dhcp and connect just fine

not that i am going to use it for this
as i have hard wired gigabit all around the house
but its tested and working fine
