New TV, not smart. Can I use sky catch-up on it?
Hi, am I right in thinking my sky plus HD box is connected to my router, then the TV is connected to the sky box by HDMI lead I can then set up the network via sky remote buttons to access the catch up menu. I am looking at setting this up on a blaupunkt 49" non smart TV. Would this work ? Haven't bought the TV yet, basically asking if catch-up works on a non smart TV.

All of the smart stuff is carried out by the Sky+ HD set top box. The TV can be as dumb as you like. It doesn't even need to have a TV tuner. A computer or CCTV monitor is sufficient provided that it has an HDMI input.

If it's a Freeview HD TV then you may find that it has some "smart" functions whilst not being a true Smart TV. The Freeview HD spec requires IPTV functionality so it will probably have an ethernet connection which will allow additional streamed channels which will show on your Freeview menu plus IPlayer may work. Also if it has ethernet you may be able to stream video, music and pictures from a PC on the same network.
