I don't think 4oD is even been in beta testing. It's not is it?

It's THAT top secret!!! Interesting. Can't wait for 4oD it along with the iPlayer are the ones I've been waiting for the most. It's the extensive library that I'm after.

Re: When is 40D coming 2013

When the CUTV sections were added for the Beta trial previously, everyone had to agree to an NDA. Someone blabbed and it caused Sky a lot of problems with the providers.

Someone has blabbed about some of the CUTV sections under test at the moment on another forum again. This has caused more problems and those involved in the current EPG Beta Testing are "upset" as none of us want to lose the feature. Not because we want it first as we don't get it all until just prior to launch, but because we are enjoying providing feedback to the development team.

I don't have any launch dates to share. Hopefully something will be posted in the announcements by Sky next week. It is tabled for release in the next couple of months.

For the record as a group we did provide a huge amount of feedback previously over the CUTV sections. Some of it was down to the providers getting used to links that Sky has provided, other bits were simply down to the providers only putting in test content.

If the blabbing has happened in the place I think it has then that will explain why they are no longer a tester. They didn't keep quiet.

      Very likely to be correct.

Whilst the initial EPG groups were opened up to most of those who volunteered, some of the quieter ones were left out of the 2nd part. For the latest beta group many either don't meet the current set up requirements or were not chosen to be a part of the latest group because of the leaks.

I hope everyone appreciates that those of us who continue to be involved are doing so to be able to help get things right for us all. There are several members of this forum involved and we will be in a position to tell you all about it and offer advice when the next big update is launched.

Sky has asked us to keep quiet about what is happening for now, so I can't say much more until it goes public.

It's all very exciting. What I would like Sky to do is a questionnaire for users of On Demand to say what they think and what they'd like to see in future. Just send it to a random 1000 maybe and see what they say.

Re: When is 40D coming 2013

Those involved in the beta testing have contributed to some treads specifically for suggestions.

I think that it is safe to say that if Sky take one 10% of what has been posted then the EPG Development team alone will be busy for a few years more. Many of the suggestions are things which have been discussed at one time or another on the forums. The detail put in by many involved has been very good and it will be nice to see the fruits of everyone's labour in due course.

I should add that some of the suggestions have already been included.

The changes to the EPG since a year ago have already been significant. Without going into the different 'bugs' in the public releases, there has been some nice features added to the STBs and the broadcasts.

You can now use an app on your tablet or phone to control the Sky+ HD STB (Sky+ on iOS, Zeebox on Android). The look and feel is quite different. CUTV is available and works well. Even more content is available in the library. A new Red button feature during the adverts has been added. More Subtitled programming and also more Audio Dialogue content has been added.

The Interactive section has also been adjusted a little too.

The development of the EPG has been progressive and rolled out in different stages. Sky's main competitor has also made some changes over the past year. I hope that customers of both products are happier for the experience.

Of course the bugs need to be resolved. Many Pace, Samsung and DRX780 owners are still unhappy with what they have. Some people have noticed interleaving issues on their TVs and of course there is the issue with the Denon (and a few others) AVRs which needs to be resolved.

      Sky's development team are busy.
