    Service connection FAIL

    This is a discussion on Service connection FAIL within the Sky Catch Up TV forums, part of the Sky On Demand category; Sorry if this should be on another thread but does seem to be new problem I switched on this morning ...

      Service connection FAIL

      Sorry if this should be on another thread but does seem to be new problem
      I switched on this morning and no on demand and have "service connection fail"
      This has happened before and reset and input password has worked .
      Today I keep getting service fail .... I am in the position of having 2 wireless points (my son has separate phone line of his own) and will not work on either Sky or Taktalk .
      Local connection OK
      Also tried manual setup and restart.
      Any suggestions welcome

      It would have been more helpful if Sky had put the outage on their Service Status page earlier than 10:04 this morning:

      as it would seem that some people noticed the problem late last night/very early this morning.

      We are currently aware of an issue whereby customers cannot connect to their On Demand services. We have our engineers working hard to fix this and hope to have a resolution as soon as possible.
      Outage start time: 27 Oct 2012 - 10:00
      Updates

      27 Oct 2012 - 13:05 Our engineers have identified the issue with our On Demand service and are working hard to resolve it. We hope to have service restored within the next few hours.

      Although my red button is still labelled 'on demand', it's only displaying what would be in the showcase section.

      I'm assuming it's just a tempory thing until sky sort out the problem with the catch up service.

      It's nice that they enabled that part while they're fixing things.
      Before, i couldn't get anything at all when i pressed red.
