Leaving sky talk/broadband due to tenancy ending
Hi all,
I joined Sky in the middle of last September with the above package at my student flat. It was a 12 month contract, and I knew this when I signed up.
I'm moving out of my flat this week to live back with my parents who already have a broadband/phone package. Naturally through my mathematic genius I knew there'd be a few months where I'd be getting charged (July, August, Sept) and I wouldn't be there.
But I'm a bit worried now about a 'cancellation charge' that has been mentioned on this forum and others, so when I come to ring Sky I thought I'd try and get a headsup if I'd be liable for this and what it entails.
Any help/reassurance would be brilliant!
Thanks,
Ben

Re: Leaving sky talk/broadband due to tenancy ending
You have to pay the remaining 3 months (July, August and September) sky will not cancel your account until you had finished your 12 months contract, unless sky will ask you to move sky to your parents house or otherwise you still paying for 3 more months if you leave your flat. Sky don't care and don't wanna to know your reason!

As per the terms and conditions you will be liable as stated above to pay the final 3 months of your contract.

Re: Leaving sky talk/broadband due to tenancy ending
I know it probably depends on who you speak to, but I'm in the exact same situation, I have to leave this property due to eviction order (only joined Sky Jan), I phoned Sky about it, and have got it confirmed in writing that if I have to terminate my contract with Sky due to no fault of my own, there will no charges

Re: Leaving sky talk/broadband due to tenancy ending
You are right in your instance, but im not sure if the poster knew that he wouldnt be there for the last 3 months of the contract rather than suddenly being forced out. If that is the case then he would have to convince Sky to release him early.
