Ending Sky Tv contract whilst still withing broadband contract
My Sky hd tv contract ends in august and I want to leave as I have had a terrible experience with customer service plus I am on my 6th HD box in 9 months and about to get anther replacement. My question is that my broadband contract ends in April. If I leave sky tv in October can I continue with my broadband contract?

No. To have Sky BB you must have Sky tv

Re: Ending Sky Tv contract whilst still withing broadband contract
As above you cannot have the Sky ADSL package without TV, you may be asked to pay it out if you try to leave the BB contract early.

Re: Ending Sky Tv contract whilst still withing broadband contract
If the Sky TV package is cancelled then Sky will cancel the Broadband package automatically so they can hardly ask for payment and refuse to supply the service at the same time. But you are dealing with Sky and so anything can happen. It might well depend upon the quality of whoever happens to answer your call.

Re: Ending Sky Tv contract whilst still withing broadband contract
Under clause 11(b) of the broadband T&Cs you won't be asked for a termination charge if the following applies:
You end your Sky digital Subscription Contract (during or after its minimum term):
i. for one of the reasons set out in conditions 11(a)(i) to (iv) of your Sky digital Subscription Contract; or
ii. because your Sky digital subscription payment has increased by more than the limits set out in Conditions 2(c)(i) or (ii) of your Sky digital Subscription Contract, by giving us one calendar’s month notice; or
iii. because a Sky group company has broken a condition of your Sky digital Subscription Contract, by giving us seven days' notice; or
iv. in accordance with the rights set out in “Your Rights to Cancel” in your Sky Contracts Booklet,
(in each case this Contract will automatically end at the same time).
If you are ending your TV contract legitimately then your broadband contract will end as well so you should be ok.

Re: Ending Sky Tv contract whilst still withing broadband contract
Probably advisable to get a MAC before you mention anything about cancelling. You could end up with no broadband, a 'tagged' line and the devil of a job to get the tag removed.

But then surely he would be liable to an early termination fee as he would need to try to move his BB, before sky cancel it.

Not if he asks for it about 29-30 days before he intends to cancel the TV. Getting a MAC is not notice of quitting.

Exactly, the MAC is just a tool to make the job of transfering to a new ISP as pain free as possible.... supposedly.
