Well I emailed the Sky broadband team this morning just to see if it was the power cut that caused the problem, and I asked them to manually configure my line or restart the DLM.
Got an email back from a very friendly Rebecca saying she has looked at our line and there was a problem with the DLM.
She has set the line to the opitimum speed up and down and has restarted the DLM.

I am currently sitting at:

Download: 7584kbps

upload: 990kbps

A nice 2.5mb rise in download speed is very welcome indeed

Maybe it will go up higher over the next few days so lets see.....

Activated back on Jan 11 but a wee bit disappointing stats:

That's with various hints and tips gained from this very forum (the speed issues one) so probably about as good as I can get wiring-wise. Time to try Sky like The Scatman above and get a bit of a boost (hopefully!). Would be happy with about 6mb or so with my attenuation.

That is a good bit better. It shows you will benefit from buying, fitting and using a filtered faceplate, which will isolate the internal wiring which is causing the problem. Have a look at this thread for recommendations.

(Made a mistake it's 915 meters) Good or bad ?

My stats have fallen back down to 5Meg, I retried the test socket with the laptop hard wired downstairs to prevent line interference & stats didn't pick up ?
