i know you may know already, but are you using the test socket ?
(sorry could not be bothered to look through your previous posts)


Edit: just seen in another part that someone seems to have no problem with 0 noise margin ?

No I dont use the test socket but then I am using the filtered faceplate already.

I have done tests in the past on previous ISP's and found I get the same readings on the test socket using a standard filter as I do using the filtered faceplate. So I know the problem is not on the line within the proerty but anywhere from behind the face plate to where it joins onto the cable outside onder the ground (or further on possibly).

To be fair though it could be a lot of things causing the 0 Noise margin at the moment. Although normally seen in the form of erros it could be the christmas lights or the amount of traffic at that part of the day.

Oddly though that was not even at 5 and since 5.25 the stats have been as below

Hi everyone

Ive just moved house where I had Orange Broadband Unlimited 8 Meg for £5 a month (in fact ive kept the service running at my parents property where i was living so I can browse on the laptop when I go down there.... Its excellent as i get a solid 8 meg connection......no probs on that line....

I was expecting to get at least 8 meg on the Sky max service but as you will see from the figures below im only getting between 5 & 5.5......

I appreciate that this a different line ...etc..etc the Orange broadband line is 0.86 km away from the exchange and getting an 8meg connection on an 8 meg service /// and the Sky max line is 1.37km away from exchange and getting a 5 meg connection on a 16meg service??????? Im not too happy at the moment and am going to give it a couple of days to settle down then make a call to Sky to see if they can do anything if it hasnt improved.... If nothing can be done then as I understand the terms & conditions state that you have 8 days from activation to cancel (can someone confirm this??) and the i can sign up with bethere( im willing to pay more for more speed)

Can this be right?? Any help will be greatly appreciated

Seems slower than it should be, was expecting at least 4 or 5MB speeds. Anyone got any ideas how I should approach this with Sky please?
