just an observational post really about my sync speeds (& downloads too I guess) and wondered if any other people on the Max package have noticed anything similar.
Recently I started using my own router - just to see if I could really in case of back up emergencies - and noticed straight away better sync speeds.
Thing is, they've been getting steadily better. I used to sync at a very stable 2000kbps+ with the Sky router, but got in the high 3000kbps+ with my own netgear one.
Then it started sycning at 4000kbps then high end 4, then it reached over 5 recently.
Today it's been at 6020kbps since I logged on at 0845, without any disconnections.
The thing is, my line attentuation & noise margin stats would suggest (i think) that I shouldn't be getting these new higher speeds;
Line Attenuation 43 db / 12.5 db
Noise Margin 4 db / 17 db

Thats gotta be good news if the speeds are increasing!
Check the Exchange stats on The Broadband Resource - should tell you if the exchange has been updated, or more to the point, if equipment within the exchange has been updated.
This could be one reason for increasing speeds - might mean that BT are finally getting their act together!! :-)
Check out dslzoneuk too: DSL ZoneUK - How fast can I get on ADSL2+?
At a 43db atteuation, you should be getting 4-6Mb, so its looking good!

Well my speed has been up and down like a yo yo since I joined Sky a month ago. But it's been pretty constant at 6mb for the last week.
