Draytek 130 modem, pfsense on sky VSDL
Hello, how are you all doing? I was reaching out for some advice, I've moved places and had to sky from virgin to sky, I've brought a draytek 130 modem to use with my pfsense VM.
I was hoping someone on here has the same setup and could assist me on how to setup the account authentication. Does Sky VSDL use PPOE, PPOA, or DHCP 61 request? I've stuck the draytek in pass-through mode, but I couldn't seem to get the pfsense to get a IP address on the WAN on the pfsense VM.
Thanks, LepreJohn

Re: Draytek 130 modem, pfsense on sky VSDL
I run opnsense and use to use sky with it. Do you need the v130 config for bridge mode as well as I have this also.
Config setting for opnsense here. Its near enough the same for pfsense so take the bits you need.

Re: Draytek 130 modem, pfsense on sky VSDL
Hi Skyeci, this was sent to me a while ago, and I couldn't get it to work with PFSense, I had to remove the quotes from the username and password as pfsense would revert the config everytime I used it. and I just couldn't get an IP on my PFSense VM.
If you could give me the config for bridge mode as I did enable it to bridge mode but I want to make sure I've got it right.

Why not go opensense. Been using it a couple of years. Very happy. Can you pm your real emaill address so I can send it.

Re: Draytek 130 modem, pfsense on sky VSDL
Sure I'll PM you over my email address, I've used pfsense for years also if I'm honest I've never tried opensense. This is the first time I've tried to virtualized PFSense I've always ran it on bare metal but now I want to see if I can set it up only using 1 NIC so I can just migrate over the VM if I need to take a host down.
I might give opensense a try, do you run it on bare metal or virtualized?

Re: Draytek 130 modem, pfsense on sky VSDL
Hi!
I believe the detailed instructions here should help you:
Sky Fibre Broadband & Now TV Setup Guide (draytek.co.uk)
DrayTek Vigor Modems To use the DrayTek Vigor 130 modem with Sky Fibre Broadband, either with a DrayTek Vigor router or another manufacturer's router, set up the modem in Bridge mode. This allows the modem to pass-through the DHCP information to the router connected to it. The router connected to the modem needs to be set up for DHCP option 61 to receive an IP address from Sky.
