Any room for improvement?
Hello everyone,
I am constantly looking for improved speeds. I'm only asking this because about a mile of lines [incl ours] have been replaced. So yeah, is there any way that I can milk my line for more upload speed? I do a lot of online gaming and uploading videos and it can get really slow sometimes. Here are my statistics:

Re: Any room for improvement?
First check that your internal set up is OK. The best way to do this is to remove the faceplate from the master socket, plug into the Test socket using only a filter and ADSL cable supplied by Sky. Take and post your stats. You are looking for an increase in speed or in the noise margins.
If there is not much difference I think you will have to phone Sky and ask them to reset your line as the upload speed is far too low..

Re: Any room for improvement?
Just took off the faceplate and put it back on - got these results
TAKEN OFF:
Broadband Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 10235 kbps 670 kbps Line Attenuation 38.5 dB 21.9 dB Noise Margin 6.3 dB 20.20 dB
PUT BACK ON:
Broadband Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 10237 kbps 670 kbps Line Attenuation 39.0 dB 21.9 dB Noise Margin 6.3 dB 19.19 dB
Any of this point out any improvement at all?

Re: Any room for improvement?
Your downstream has improved slightly, probably due to the reboot, but your upload is the same. I am afraid you will have to phone Sky and ask them to improve your upload.

Re: Any room for improvement?
If it is possible and within your budget, I would suggest that you consider a Fibre product to really make a difference. Take a look at the BT Wholesale link below and use the 'Address Checker' option as Sky's lines won't appear on the BTW database.
https://www.btwholesale.com/includes...cs_adslchecker
As a minimum I would suggest Sky Fibre Unlimited. This is the "up to 38mbps". Dependant upon what your line can achieve you could get the full 40mb down, 10mb up and pings below 20ms. Sky Fibre Max requires a minimum download speed of around 54mbps for Sky to be prepared to sell it to you. At best it'll give you 80mb down and 20mb up. Essentially this is what I have (actually I have SFUP). It's sold as "upto 76mb down".
If you post your results from the BTW link above (please edit out your address) we can also see what BT predict for your ADSL2+ line, although Sky tends to always perform above the estimate.
PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.
