Sky Search Engine no longer searches the internet

Ever since I have had Sky - many years now - I have always done my internet searches via the Sky Search Engine (The search box that appears along the top of the home page in the middle of the screen). However a few days ago this facility suddenly became unavailable in as much it would only search for Sky related products - anything else and it came back to say didn't recognise "......... "Did you mean "......?". Contacted Sky Support but they couldn't answer the issue. Fortunately I can still use the Sky.com search in the top left corner (so all is not lost). Anyone out there have any ideas why its suddenly changed. At first thought it my be my PC and maybe I had accidentally and inadvertantly changed a setting somewhere but I contacted my local PC repair shop and they checked their machines and theirs were showing the same as mine....Thanks in anticipation

I would think the Sky search uses the Yahoo engine. Never used it, preferring Google.

it used to be all website searches embedded in site only searched within its own network map

Yes it used to give option of searching sky.com or wider internet, guess cost-cutting across business means that they now only search on-site to avoid fees for external searches.
