Sky broadband unlimited goes up to 24mb
I pretty much max out my line at 22-23mb and get a reliable 1.2mb upload
My ping is normally 10-11.
I'm about 0.4 mile away in total from my exchange, with telegraph pole wiring from house to local box about 700 feet away.

My stats;
Connection Speed 23261 kbps 1239 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.0 dB 11.8 dB
Noise Margin 3.3 dB 7.7 dB

Are these pings from a PC/tablet and wired/wireless?
Can you share your stats from your router?

The downstream rate, upstream rate and the downstream range on adsl is the one to look for.

To get your router stats (see you have a sr101) log into your router by clicking on this link

Then, click on show statistics on the bottom of that page.

Yes thats the correct line for your btwholesale checker, what does it show as the downstream range?

Also, just a basic router checker tool that sky broadband provide, what does this show for you?

The bt wholesale site is normally a good estimate, but looks like you are well below that.
I'm not great on the attenuation ratios, but from what Ive worked out using some of the old calculators your line attention download is low for you.

Someone else on here might want to add some light on your stats.

line speed 17mb browsing speed will be between 15.5 mb to 16 mb cabled wifi will usally be below this
your line stats possibly indicate some noise/ interference on the line or internally as dlm has set line noise margin/snr to 9 on downstream
minimum can be 3db but only line very stable but it maybe your line needs to be re-profiled by dlm after you did work in house with new socket
