Connection dropping repeatedly, all day
Hi,
My broadband disconnects throughout the day. Normally its any time past midnight, but today it been dropping all day, approximately 30+ times today alone.
It'll disconnect, and take up to 5 minutes to come on again, this happens around every 20 minutes.

Re: Connection dropping repeatedly, all day
So just to make sure...
You have only one socket and it is the master socket.
And into that you have a microfilter with a telephone/any sky boxes on one side and the router on the other?
PS.. If you have Sky+HD box(es) these no longer need phone connection if they are connected to broadband.
You have no other unfiltered sockets in the house?
You are not operating the router on any kind of telephone extension?
Have you replaced the micro filter?
Have you tried having just a micro filter into the test socket then wire into your router?
When you have tried all these things you should call Sky.
It's either going to be a faulty router or be something that needs an Openreach visit if none of these things fix it.
Remember if they need to book an Openreach visit you will be read a script about being charged but this would (should) only apply if they (or you) haven't completed the troubleshooting properly. Otherwise the visit is free.
Often the router is replaced before the Openreach visit, this is rarely free! Please note the views and recommendations in my posts are my own and in no way reflect the views of Sky
