Own router help
Hey everyone, sorry my first post is to ask for help but I'm really stuck here.I've been having nothing but trouble with sky routers so bought a TP link TD-W8980 to use.I got my username and password using a couple of calculators using the details from my sky hub.I've entered all of these details but my router doesn't get an ip from sky.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Own router help
Looks like you have the wrong username/password. Try checking by using Wireshark.

Re: Own router help
It seems to be working for the minute although I think there's a problem with my line as it keeps dropping every now and then.
Mid it stops working I'll reconnect the old one and give wire shark ago rather than the calculators I'd used originally. I did use 2 to confirm they gave the same answer but guess they didn't work.

Re: Own router help
I am using a TPW8968 which is pretty similar to yours (ex-O2 customer). It is pretty stable, far better than my old Thomson O2 router on a 3km line - connected for 39 days at 8.4Mbs with no dropouts.
