Your sky email will continue to work for as long as you continue to use it.

Yes, you can keep it for ever, so long as you use it from time to time.
You might like to set up en email client e.g. Thunderbird to check the mail automatically.

Thanks Guys. When you say use it does logging into it via Outlook (or via my IPHONE) count or do I have to log into "My Sky" and use it that way?

Any access to it counts, including logging in with Outlook, so either will do fine.

Re: Having to move to BT after 12 years - help with email
Your title is a bit misleading as Sky have only provided broadband since 2006 (for [mainly] trial customers) and 2007-onwards for most customers.
And there is always a choice where BT is the only provider in town.
Sky Connect is rubbish because Sky are LLU elsewhere.
If they used BT nationwide then they would provide a 21CN service in a lot of the connect areas or a better 20CN service if not 21CN area.
Most of the other UK ISP's resell BT Wholesale products so won't be anywhere near as bad as Connect services.
Go to thinkbroadband for reviews on other providers.
Back on topic, your email should stay active as long as you keep connecting and using it as posted by previous people above. Please note the views and recommendations in my posts are my own and in no way reflect the views of Sky

I have Gmail accounts so when moving ISP I have no problem, would suggest you use a Gmail or Yahoo etc. in future rather the new ISP ones.
Just a thought can your present Sky one be set to automatically forward messages to your new account? I was able to do that way back with an ex-ISP when I set my Gmail up.
