Hi,

New here but I've been with sky for nearly a year and my connection has plummeted in the last week. Not sure what my exchange is (im in wimbledon if that tells you anything) but i'm on the mid package and my IP is 90.204.222.*** I checked my stats on speednet and they were:



It's been this bad at all times of day and it's almost impossible to stream videos / open multiple pages / check passworded sites.

Spoke to Tier 1 - Didnt help but did say Speed was 6.2mb but line can only handle 4.5 so they put me through to Tier 2 who changed lots of settings but websites still slow after changing speed and line code etc....eventually Escalated it after saying could be my PC.

Its a newly built PC by me and nothing on it causing this , tried my laptop and same problems so it deff the net.

I tried the SKY test and it came back with Error 300 and Error 200 and CHAP could not authenticate even though i was connected to net and worked slowly.

They kept spewing some rubbish about the errors and said i will get a call within 24 hrs to say fixed... my net is now at 2.4mb

Im not convinced they know what theyre doing...

Start a new thread in the Broadband help section and include your stats from your normal position and from the test socket, link below.

Your problem is nothing to do with the thread subject and will be lost here.

This thread dates back about 3 years to the early days of Sky BB and was for information only, to try to establish if slow loading was due to particular exchanges or IP addresses. It was never meant to be a 'help' thread. This is why I suggested you start your own thread as you appear to need help.

Can you tell me please how to find out the ip you want me to give as part of my information? I can't see anywhere on any of my paperwork that tells me what it is.

Page load times have become very slow recently. The bulk of the delay is in "Looking up www.whatever.com".

Today I reverted from OpenDNS to the Sky DNS servers, i.e. using the default DNS from the Sky router via DHCP, and the lookup delays have been eliminated.

I am posting here because the weight of experience in these forums is that users should switch to OpenDNS to improve performance. This looks like it is no longer the case.

SInce a week ago some web pages take a ridiculous amount of time to load.
Its an absolute joke and Im sick of it.
