If you are still having DNS problems, have you tried OpenDNS as detailed above? What you have posted is meaningless without some explanation.

Hi,
Since i ahd my tel number changed i am having right problem with broadband..very slow loading of page. if more than 5 windows open no page is displayed. i have formatted my pc. netwrok setup hasnt chnaged. changed cables and filters. no luck..ay ideas..??

I just did the OpenDNS thing and it has made a big difference.
Despite getting good results with Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test I found that individual pages were taking ages to load. However, after the OpenDNS tweak they are loading almost instantly. Do it!!!!!

This is a bluddy great site yer knaw. When I first joined Sky BB I used the 'disconnect the orange wires from phone socket terminal 3' tweak and got a huge increase in download speeds. Keep up the good work lads and lassies

Apart from regaler disconnects & reconnects, slow web speeds & excessively high ping during online gaming, ive found myself been disconnected whenever i download for more than a few minutes, this includes video streaming from youtube & other sites.

I am on the verge of canceling my package & paying out for a solid connection from virgin media from where i moved from to sky. At first it was fantastic, but ever since joining max its been problem after problem & i need unlimited downloads as i use P2P software to share flash video & other format video with work colleague's that we use for work.

I'm really sorry, but its seriously prevented my online experience from been enjoyable to frustration, anger & to be told over the phone that the problem is with my pc or my home setup made my blood boil. It was clear to me i know more about networking & pc building ( which i do ) than the people i speak to over the phone who have to click on there computer screens on what to do next that any fool can follow.

If you want someone to help, please post your stats from your normal position and from the Test socket, behind the Master faceplate. It would be better if you did this in a new thread, rather than this one, which deals with a different problem.

oh ye sorry, went on a little bit there, happens often with me

Anyways i did all the tests sky & other forum user's do, been a computer engineer it was pretty common practice but the problem was to much speed been pumped down my line that it could handle, so i asked for a small speed reduction from my usual 14mbps to 12mbps, so far so good, 3 days no disconnects which is pretty good from previous experience.

Hi all,
long time no post.

I was on connect package, Knowle (Solihull) exchange. Don't know my IP as I'm not at home.

I've just jumped ship to O2 as Sky Broadband has been unusable between 5pm and midnight every day.

FTP stops, webpages awfully slow, just dreadful. Skype unusable, which is a blow to our parents as they like to see the grandkids.

Used to be good, but now... not.
