Re: Slow page loading times
I have had this issue with Firefox and tend to find that every few weeks i will use a program called Firetune which basically speeds things back up rather then doing a uninstall and reinstall.
The other choice is try and use K-Meleon whcih i find is MUCH MUCH quicker than firefox.
Hope this helps anyone would still love to know why it is firefox only started acting this way once i moved over to Sky?Last edited by ishtar; 16-04-08 at 07:19 PM.

Re: Slow page loading times
FireFox has had a few problems with the last 2 or 3 upgrades, they have made things worse instead of better. I have the idea that most of their work is going into FireFox3 and version 2 is just being kept going until 3 is ready for general release.
I'll give K-meleon a try and see how it compares

Re: Slow page loading times
Hi all,
I've been having really slow speeds for the past day or two now and I'm getting fed up.
This isn't just for loading pages in Firefox, this is for everything. Check http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/results/id/12098316954155884104.html] these speed test results. What I don't get though, is that my router says its connected at 3MB down and 448kbs up, which is about the norm for it (connect package btw).
I've tried resetting it a couple of times, but it makes no difference. Any thoughts on what could be going on?

Re: Slow page loading times
GunForHire - please change your profile as it states you are on base at the moment.
the speed issue could be down to throttling (by BT) / bad profile (if you use an extention, it may have triggered a change in your profile, which takes upto 3 day to correct) or a wireless issueLast edited by richone54; 03-05-08 at 07:18 PM.

Re: Slow page loading times
Sorry about that, updated it now, haven't been on here in quite a while.
I haven't been doing any heavy downloading for quite a while, so I don't know why my connection would be getting throttled. As for the extention, I've not changed anything on the hardware front or with my account, and I'm using a wired connection to the router.

Re: Slow page loading times
are you plugged into the master socket or a extention (master socket is normally by the front door/front room)
