Re: After the thunder & lightning today :(
That 8191Kbps downstream is probably a profile cap & you have a variable noise issue.
What happens if you reboot again, now the noise margin is higher?

Re: After the thunder & lightning today :(
Your line is capped at 8192/960, although you will always sync a few kb below that. The main problem seems to your upstream rate, which suggests there may be excessive noise in the lower frequencies. What you can do about it, I don't know. If you are sure your internal set up is OK and you have no noise on you voice line, all you can do is ask for your line to be checked. Maybe they will find something causing a problem.

Re: After the thunder & lightning today :(
I've listened carefully with the phones I have (1 main phone plugged directly into filter and 2 slaves) and it sounds clear. I also did the line noise test number a while back and that too sounded clear. They (Sky) did line tests just after the electrical storm and said that was fine, so not sure I'd get anymore change out of them on that one. I could argue with them that back in 2011, I was getting a stable 9.2neg connection, but with another new 50,000 broadband customers last quarter (thinkbroadband news), it makes me wonder if they would really care.
Configuration in house is about as simple as I imagine you can get......no extensions and router plugged directly into master socket next to front door. I will be in a position to run the routerstats (lite) app over several days from this Sunday onwards if you think that might show something.

MySky
Line connection testing completed on 28/07/2014, resulting in the following settings:
Download speed setting
Your connection has been set to a download speed of up to 8.2Mbps .
Upload speed setting
Your connection has been set to an upload speed of up to 2.6Mbps .
I know it says 'upto', but where do they get that 2.6mbps upload speed.....its not been higher than 960-970Last edited by joe pineapples; 30-07-14 at 12:28 PM.

Re: After the thunder & lightning today :(
Decided to give Sky a call this morning, explained about the swapping of routers during the line training period etc. The guy I spoke to couldn't have been more positive and helpful. He played around with the settings and resync'd the router to the below stats. Line training will be initiated again so will see how it goes with everything undisturbed this time around. He'll also be phoning me back (booked on their new call back system apparently) on the 11th August.

Re: After the thunder & lightning today :(
I find it surprising too. Annex A which Sky have always used, has a theoretical maximum of 1.3Mb. To get an upload of 2.6Mb they would have to use Annex M, I have not seen it confirmed that they are using this. Your very low u/s noise margin makes getting any more virtually impossible. Running Routerstats Lite for a couple of days may show something.

Re: After the thunder & lightning today :(
These DLM reports showing up to 2.6Mbps for the upload have been happening for some time now.
I believe it started around the time o2/be customers were first migrated over to sky, along with rumours that Annex-M could become available as part of the 'pro' product.
Since then all the rumours have died down, with the assumption being that Annex-M won't be happening at least in the foreseeable future & it's just that sky haven't tweaked the mysky reports back to normal yet.

Re: After the thunder & lightning today :(
After 2 days of DLM it has locked off the speed at what it set to last time, and no reset last night. When he calls me back on the 11th, I'm wondering if I can have him set the noise margin target to 3db.
