Hi.
Pings of around 20-25ms have been fairly common on sky lines for some time now.
Personally, i had a ping of 22-24ms for about 18 months until last july when this dropped to 15-17ms.
At least that is to a few 'benchmark' addresses such as bbc.co.uk or google.com. Others can be higher.
Has DLM been retraining your line?
You can tell by the WAN uptime in the router stats resettling to zero during the early hours.
Alternatively, there may be a report in the 'connection details' section of your mysky area at sky.com.
My drop to 15ms happened during line training & believe was a result of changes made to the DLM software.

I don't know if it is related but Sky are in the process of updating all their LLU kit to support the ability to customise the settings for the new Broadband Pro products.
They never provide the details of any such upgrades as they are commercially sensitive, but it wouldn't surprise me if something else has been sneaked in too.
Of course Sky are also constantly upgrading the Backhaul network. It is possible that your exchange has just benefited from one such upgrade.

Re: Sky ping gone down 20-30ms on 27/04/14
It would be good to know if the change has been permanent.
If the upload figures you refer to are the sync speeds shown in the router stats, then small changes after a resync are quite normal.
Sky regularly resyncs my line, resulting in being allocated a new ip address.
Sometimes i'm given a new ip address without a resync (speeds don't change & the logs are different).
Either way, i'm experiencing some odd behaviour at the moment whereby different ip addresses result in different ping times.

I have read that it's possible for some ip subnets to be 'tagged' with incorrect location data, which can cause this phenomenon by traffic taking a different route depending on the address, but i don't fully understand that to be honest.
It's perhaps worth keeping an eye on though, just in case.
