Re: Sky Broadband installing May 9th
It has done a little something, but I would suggest it is far from complete.
I notice that the upload speed is also a little higher that it previously would have been for your current download speed. I'm not sure why this is, but I have seen it elsewhere recently on a friend's connection:
Connection Speed 6701 kbps 1200 kbps
Line Attenuation 50.0 dB 29.2 dB
Noise Margin 6.4 dB 3.3 dB
PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.

Re: Sky Broadband installing May 9th
We constantly monitor your line to make sure it has been set to support the fastest speed possible whilst maintaining a stable connection.
Line connection testing completed on 14/05/2014, resulting in the following settings:
Download speed setting
Your connection has been set to a download speed of up to 5.0Mbps .
Upload speed setting
Your connection has been set to an upload speed of up to 2.6Mbps .
STATS AFTER LINE TESTING :
Connection Speed 4530 kbps 962 kbps
Line Attenuation 56.5 dB 36.1 dB
Noise Margin 5.3 dB 2.2 dB
There is definitely an improvement with Sky Broadband this time around

Re: Sky Broadband installing May 9th
BT openreach are currently outside my gate for some unknown reason and have some part of the ground lifted up. What could this be for, most likely a fault reported by someone or possibly linked to the fibre roll out?

Re: Sky Broadband installing May 9th
OK, things are starting to go a little pear shaped
About 10 minutes ago, my speeds were the same constant 3.9mbps which i've been happy with. The hub seemed to reboot it's self and it rebooted to the same stats as before more or less ;
Connection Speed 4395 kbps 952 kbps
Line Attenuation 57.0 dB 36.3 dB
Noise Margin 5.8 dB 3.3 dB
However, the browsing speeds is noticeably slower and the speedtest paints a different picture ;
What could have happened?

Re: Sky Broadband installing May 9th
I wonder if it synced too high and is now picking up some errors?
I'd be tempted to call Sky again to see what their systems say.
